Personal Territory and Boundaries | Belly of the Whale

Week Five/ Personal Territory seques very nicely into Week Six/ Boundaries.

Our discussion this week talks about where, when, how and why we constantly need to establish and enforce our individual ‘lines in the sand.’

As many of the participants are expats it will be interesting to note whether moving to another country alters or strengthens our personal territory and boundaries.

I’m only a snowbird but I know personally that my family relationships work much better from a distance. Up North I live in a different province and for half the year when I’m in Mexico I’m only in touch with my family sporadically by email. Honestly, I truly doubt if anything would significantly change if I suddenly returned to my hometown of Edmonton, Alberta year round.

All I know for sure is that I wouldn’t be driving a Mustang convertible OR escaping the harsh snowy and icy Prairies winters!

About canmexartistway

I am a happily retired teacher/expat to be now relocated to the spectacularly beautiful Harbour City of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. During snowbird six I decided to morph from snowbird to Mexpat! I'm taking the 'scenic route' geographically and metaphorically during the next 5 to 6 months as I downsize, downsize, downsize in preparation for an international move in the fall.
